Juice or Medicine?

Few weeks back, Rishit was down with viral fever and i was giving him Calpol and Meftal-P alternately to bring down his fever. At 1 AM, i gave him Meftal-P and slept. i had a shock of my life when i saw Rishit come out of the bedroom in the morning with pink colored liquid all over his face. Only then i realized that i had forgotten to keep the medicine back in the cupboard.

I was totally tensed and didn't know what to do for a minute. The bottle was half filled the night before and there was some liquid on the floor. i didn't know how much rishit had drunk. I was thinking about all this and trying my doctor's number when akshu's comment really made me laugh. He said " U keep telling rishit that the medicine is juice, now he has drunk the whole bottle!" True in fact. That is how i used to give both akshu and rishi medicines when they had fever but looked like rishit had taken it seriously.
My husband and I ran to Apollo emergency and after a whole lot of drama, we discovered he had taken very little in fact.Great relief. Best thing was, Rishit did not cry at all, even when the tube was put in his nose and the liquid pumped out! Doctors were all praise for him :)

Ma. You are a witch.

yeah! This is what Akshu says when he is irritated with me. This is the result of telling him too many fairy tale stories.
Whenever i am strict with him or refuse him a toy, this is his immediate reaction. He doesn't mind who is there or where he is. Initially it angered me but now i have started tackling it differently. When he says "Ma you are a witch", i tell him, "If i am a witch who are you? " and bang comes the reply "I am a kutti witch!"
Adhu Adhu!!

Chinchi and Panchi!

I have been wanting to write this for a long time now. You must be wondering what Chinchi and Panchi mean. I call Rishit as "Chinch Baath" at home. Chinch Baath in marathi means tamarind rice. I just liked the name and started calling Rishit so. Just to include Akshat and make it more rhyming Rishit became "Chinchi" and Akshat "Panchi".

One day i was telling akshat that we have to start a serial on Chutti TV as "Chinchi and Panchi" . There he was ready with the story.

His story goes like this:

Once upon a time there lived 2 friends called "Chinchi and Panchi". Chinchi lived in a small house and Panchi lived in a big house. (Note the size of the houses. Very smart Akshu!!)
They both lived happily ever after by hitting each other.

The story ended before it even started. Eh! I was planning on a mega serial!

Not again Akshu!

Last week akshu made me look like a fool in front of his teacher twice.
First, he came to me and said,"amma, we have 15 days off in school"
Myself: Why?
Akshu: Some prachanai (problem). They are going to break the nursery wing and build a new building.
Though i wasn't totally convinced i just mentioned it to his teacher in school the next day and she was really surprised. "Probably he is expecting the school to close down for sometime" she laughed.
After 2 days he came to me and said " Amma, i drove a car in school"
Myself: Where?
Akshu: Behind the basket call court. Vignesh and I rode a scooter too. Teacher said ,'Akshat, you are a 2 wheeler champ'
Myself: Are you lying akshu?
Akshat: No maa it is true. A big car and scooter.
I didn't believe him but still decided to ask his teacher the next day. Probably they did something in the computer class. When i told his teacher the next day, she was confused.
Teacher: No we didn't do anything like that.

Myself: I believe you said he is a 2 wheeler champ.
Teacher: He has a good imagination
I wasn't sure whether i needed to be proud or embarassed.

Next day akshu said "Amma vignesh is troubling me"
Myself: I will ask teacher to tell his mother.
Akshu: No he doesn't have a mother.
Myself: Who said?
Akshu: He only told.

Oh Akshu! Not again. Nalla maatukku oru soodu. I didn't want to verify his last testament!!

Chichit!

yeah! thatz how Rishit calls himself these days. I taught him his name last week and the best he could muster was "Chichit" with his cute smile closing his eyes :)
He happened to see Lord Ganesh's statute in some house and wanted to know who that was. I eagerly taught him "Pillaiyaar" and he proudly repeats "Puaa". He is very happy to have got that word right? :))

Pillaiyaar Suzhi

I have been thinking of writing a blog for a long time but somehow couldn't get myself t0 start. So today, the 24th of July 2010 i have started with a Pillaiyaar suzhi. This blog is solely dedicated to my 2 wonderful kids, Akshat and Rishit. (hence the name akshari to my blog if you were all wondering!).

Thanks to ML, my friend for having inspired me to write. I am not a great writer (not even a writer in fact) but still i thought there was no harm in putting down my thoughts and experiences somewhere. Isn't it?

Akshat, my first son is 4 1/2 yrs old, very intelligent and over active. I enjoy his questions and his ability to analyze anything at this age. Very dangerous fellow :))

Rishit, the younger one is just 1 1/2 yrs old but has already learnt the art of attracting our attention. Just cries to get his things done and you should see that sweet smile when he gets what he wants. A charmer all the way :))
